Algarve-Cup
The Algarve-Cup is an annual inivitational tournament for women's national soccer teams. It's held at the Portugues Algarve region since 1994 and is considered one of the most important competitions in women's soccer after the Olympics, World Cups and European Championships.
The US-team is the record champion with six titles, followed by Norway (four), Sweden and China (both two) and Germany (one)
The teams are divided into three round-robin groups of four.
Afterwards, the placement round proceeds as follows:
- Place 11: 3rd from Group C vs. 4th from Group C
- Place 9: 2nd from Group C vs. lower-ranked 4th of Group A or B
- Place 7: 1st from Group C vs. higher-ranked 4th from Group A or B
- Place 5: 3rd from Group A vs. 3rd from Group B
- Place 3: 2nd from Group A vs. 2nd from Group B
- Finals: 1st from Group A vs. 1st from Group B.

- Group B: USA, Norway, Denmark, Iceland
