Allen Iverson
Allen Iverson, "The Answer, is a basketball player for the NBA's Denver Nuggets. The 6-foot Iverson has been one of the game's best and most controversial figures and is the NBA's leading scorer over the past decade.
Though undersized even for the point guard position, Iverson - who spends most of the time at 2-guard - plays with an unparalleled heart and passion. Drafted 1st overall in 1996 by the Philadelphia 76ers, Iverson turned the downtrodden franchise into a member of the East's elite.
In 2001, Iverson won the All-Star Game MVP, the regular season MVP award and took the Sixers to two Game 7 victories and a Finals matchup with Shaquille O'Neal's and Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers.
A.I. was a fan favourite in Philadelphia for his aggressive style of play, relentlessly attacking the basket unafraid of the punishment he would receive from opposing big-men. Due to the way Iverson dominated the ball, he was, however, one of the most difficult players to play with. There is a long list of good players who failed to compliment "The Answer, including Toni Kukoc, Jerry Stackhouse and Chris Webber.
After a couple of unsuccessful seasons, Iverson was dealt in December 2006 to the Denver Nuggets where he forms a high-scoring duo with Carmelo Anthony. A.I. and the Nuggets are currently in 9th place in the Western Conference and struggling for the final playoff seed.
