Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony is a basketball player for the NBA's Denver Nuggets. Melo, as he is also known, won an NCAA Championship in his only college season with Syracuse University - becoming the prototype for the successful "one-and-done" player.
Since entering the NBA as the No.3 pick in the 2003 draft, which has been hailed as the strongest draft class in a generation also featuring LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, Anthony has enjoyed considerable success. His Nuggets teams reached the playoffs in each of his four seasons (losing in the first round each year) and Anthony has become one of the game's most dynamic scorers.
At 6-8, Melo can post up shorter players and is too quick and agile to be contained by bigger defenders. He has been voted to two consecutive All-Star Games and is a co-captain of the USA Basketball team for which he competed in the 2004 Olympics and the 2006 World Championships.
