Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are an NBA franchise in the Eastern Conference's Central Division. Founded in 1970, the Cavaliers have not yet managed to win an NBA championship.

The franchise's first peak period came during the late 1980s and early 1990s when a team led by Brad Daugherty and Mark Price was continuously to be found near the top of the Eastern Conference standings without ever overcoming Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls.

Following a decade of slumber and a number of botched draft picks, the Cavaliers won the big prize in the 2003 draft lottery. Picking first, Cleveland chose 18-year old phenom LeBron James who almost instantly revitalized the franchise and the city. In 2007, James took the Cavaliers all the way to the NBA Finals where they were no match for the San Antonio Spurs, losing in four games.
