Greg Oden

Greg Oden is a basketball player for the NBA's Portland Trailblazers. The 7-foot Oden has been hailed as the best center prospect in a generation.

A McDonald's All-American and National Player of the Year in high school, he teamed up with Mike Conley Jr. to lead Lawrence North High School to three consecutive state titles. In 2006, the duo went to Ohio State which they led all the way to the NCAA Final, losing to Joakim Noah's and Al Horford's Florida Gators.

After an intense national debate, Oden got picked first in the 2007 draft by Portland, ahead of fellow freshman standout Kevin Durant who went to the Seattle Sonics. Before he could suit up for his first NBA game, Oden had to undergo microfracture surgery on his knee, which caused him to sit out the entire season.

In college, Greg Oden, born in 1988, was often ridiculed for looking much closer to 40 than to 20.
