John Stockton

John Stockton was a basketball player for the NBA's Utah Jazz. Stockton spent his entire 19-year career with the Jazz and retired in 2003 as the all-time assist leader (15,806) by a wide margin.

Stockton is one of the greatest passers to ever play basketball. Fast and gritty, he was a highly efficient scorer, shooting better than 50% for his career - an amazing feat for a guard - and is also the NBA's all-time leader in steals at 3,265.

Incredibly durable, Stockton played the full 82 games in 17 of his 19 seasons. The default answer when it comes to assist records, Stockton delivered most of his passes to Karl Malone, a teammate for all but his rookie season.

A member of the Dream Team and selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history, Stockton never won a championship - twice falling at the hands of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls - but was the hero who clinched the Jazz' first Finals appearance with a three-pointer in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals over Charles Barkley's Houston Rockets.
