Brady-shock for the Pats
The new NFL season started with a 17-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs for the New England Patriots. But after the game was over, nobody even thought about that.
Star quarterback Tom Brady injured his left knee early in that match and had to be replaced by Matt Cassel in the first quarter already. The first diagnose - cruciate ligament rupture - was confirmed quite quickly. This means that Brady will be out for the whole season.
Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, by whom the 31-year-old Pats player was hit accidentally, said: "All I heard was him scream and yell. I knew something was wrong."
"We feel very sorry for Tom," New England coach Bill Belichick added: "Nobody had worked harder and done more for this team than he did."
The other results:
- New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins 16-7
- Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals 17-10

- Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears 13-29
