Double-shocking Wednesday night for Detroit
The Boston Celtics took the lead again in the Eastern Conference finals series against the Detroit Pistons. Being up 3-2 now after a 106-102 victory, the Celtics need only one more win to reach their first NBA-final since 1987 now.
Thanks to Kevin Garnett (33 points) and Ray Allen (29 points), 16 times champion Boston kept an early lead until the end of the game.
The Pistons need a win on Friday badly now at home in The Palace of Auburn Hills, as the Celtics will be going to try to convert their first match point straight away.
What makes things even more difficult for the underdog is the fact that shooting guard Richard Hamilton was forced to quit the game some minutes earlier due to an arm injury.
It’s doubtful whether he will recover quickly enough to be able to help his team on Friday.
Hamilton was the second-best Pistons player with a total of 25 points behind Chauncey Billups (26 points) on Wednesday.
