Kobe beats the Spurs
For half of the game, things were looking like a nightmare for Kobe Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers. The Californian star only scored two points until the third quarter was to start against the defending NBA champion, the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs were even still leading by 20 points then, when suddenly, the Lakers started to turn the match in the Staples Center around. They made up point by point and won the third quart 22-21.
While the Spurs’ Bruce Brown hadn’t given Kobe Bryant any chances in quarter one and two, the Lakers’ shooting guard escalated more and more from minute to minute then.
Finally, the NBA MVP had scored 25 points in the second half and Los Angeles beat San Antonio 89-85.
Tim Duncan scored 30 points, saved 18 rebounds and four blocks for the Spurs, Tony Parker scored 18 points, saved ten rebounds and delivered six assists.
Now everybody is in tense expectation for Game 2 of the Western Conference playoff finals which will be held in Los Angeles on Friday, May 23, 2008, 6:00 pm.
