US Open, Round 3 - Update

Mixed results for the US players.

Sam Querrey ousted the next seeded player: After beating Czech Tomas Berdych in Round 1, he won in Round 3 against Ivan Karlovic, the 14th seed from Croatia. Next up for him is the Spanish World No. 1 Rafael Nadal. Another seed to lose in Round 3 was James Blake (9), who was beaten by his compatriot Mary Fish in straight sets. Andy Roddick reached Round 4 with a win against Andreas Seppi (Italy).

Serena Williams won her Round 3-match against Japanese veteran Ai Sugiyama, and her sister Venus defeated Alona Bondarenko from the Urkaine, while Lindsay Davenpot lost to 12th seed Marion Bartoli (France)

Gaël Monfils (32) from France surprised with an easy win against 7th seed Argentine David Nalbandian.
