Pierce's great size, strength and versatility for his position make him a matchup nightmare and one of the most difficult players in the League to defend one-on-one. Along with Antoine Walker, Pierce took an overachieving Boston Celtics team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002.
Subsequently, however, the Celtics' performance began to decline and bottomed out in 2006-07 when the team won just 24 games and rumors were rampant that Pierce was about to be traded. Instead, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Pierce on the Celtics and transformed the team into a prime title contender owning the League's best record.
