Raphaël Wicky

Raphaël Wicky (*April 26, 1977 in Leuggern, Switzerland) is a professional soccer player. He is currently signed with Club Deportivo Chivas USA in the MLS since February 2008.

At the age of 16, Wicky started his senior career at FC Sion in the Swiss "Nationalliga A2. In 1995, he made his debut to the Swiss national team.

Two years later, Wicky was transferred to German club SV Werder Bremen. He played for Atlético Madrid (Spain) in 2001, before returning to the German "Bundesliga", where he joined the Hamburger SV from 2002 to 2007. After losing first-choice status there, Wicky went back to Sion in July 2007.

He participated in UEFA Euro 1996 and 2004 as well as in FIFA World Cup 2006 with Switzerland’s national team. Wicky was not nominated for UEFA Euro 2008.
