San Jose Earthquakes
The San Jose Earthquakes are a professional soccer club founded in 1995 as the San Jose Clash. The San Jose, California based team participated in Major League Soccer (MLS) from 1995 to 2005 for the first time. In 1999, they were re-named to San Jose Earthquakes. Since 2007, the team is back to the league.
In 2001 and 2003, the club won the MLS Cup.
When the franchise was put on hiatus after the 2005 season, the San Jose players and head coach Dominic Kinnear moved to Houston, Texas to play as the Houston Dynamo.
