USTA

The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for tennis in the USA. It was founded as the USLTA (United States National Lawn Tennis Association) in 1881. The USTA runs the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center which hosts the US Open every year.

With 17 geographical sections and more than 665,000 individual members and 7,000 organizational members, the USTA is the largest tennis organization in the world.

Besides the US Open Series, which links ten summer tournaments to the US Open, it hosts the USTA Pro Circuit, the world’s largest professional tour for tennis development. The Pro Circuit provides the next generation of American champions with the opportunity to play against world-class competition without having to travel abroad.
