Drafted 5th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 1998 and immediately traded to the Toronto Raptors, the 6-6 shooting guard became an instant sensation in Canada and won the Rookie of the Year Award. Voted to his first of a number of All-Star Games in 2000, Carter made a splash by winning the Dunk Contest with an array of incredible slams.

Though his dunks won him worldwide fame, Vince Carter could not carry his team further than the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Frequently injured and accused of a deficient work ethic, Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets in December 2004 for two first-round draft picks - one of the most lop-sided deals in NBA history.

Teamed with Jason Kidd, Carter and the Nets made the playoffs each year but failed to advance to the Conference Finals. Vince Carter was also a member of the U.S. national team that won gold in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
